Dear Friends,
Happy New Year!!! I hope yours is off to a great start! As I reflect on all that happened to me in 2014, I am filled with gratitude.
Professionally, I accomplished some major goals. I sold a ton of art, performed several times each week, and found myself recording in some awesome Atlanta studios. I was given an opportunity to record at Zac Recording with Jim Zupano, Tony Terenbone, Roy Hinshaw, and Cody Sciara. I’ve never been treated so well or had as much fun in the studio as I did with this incredibly professional group of musicians, engineers, and producers. This project will be released later in 2015–stay tuned!
I also received a GIANT honor in 2015. Mr. Fred Gretsch of the highly renowned Gretsch Guitars donated one of his guitars that I painted to the Charlie Daniels Christmas for Kids benefit concert. It brought $1100 dollars to this great cause at auction in the Ryman Theater. Honestly, I almost fainted!!! Such an amazing gesture on so many levels! Being in a circle of beautiful energy while helping kids is one of my greatest passions. Gosh, am I grateful!!!
As you might recall, due to the generous contributions of people like you, I won studio time at Southern Tracks through the Songs For Kids Foundation. I had a pre production meeting with Jeremy Gilbertson on Friday. We plan to complete the recording of these songs in the next couple of months. I’ll let you know when it’s time for the release.
Lastly, If you live in Atlanta, or are looking for a fun weekend get-away, I will be doing a set February 20th at 8:00 PM at Smith’s Olde Bar in The Atlanta Room. I actually will be joined by Kent Aberle on drums, Hal Mahan on bass, and Matthew Smith on guitar!!! I would love for you to join us.
I’ve never been as excited about a new beginning as I am in 2015. I just want to wish you all an INCREDIBLE New Year and I thank you so much for your love and support on my musical journey through art!!!
Yours in Love and Light,
Alexis Vear
