Step Out

BACK TO LYRICS

Album: Let It Go
Music & Lyrics: Alexis Vear
Secret: “Step Out was written after the first time I played, and sang at Eddies Attic. I was so scared. I suffer from terrible stage fright. I was really freaking out, but Eddie has this way with people. No matter who you are, and what your skill level, he treats you with respect, and encourages everyone to get up on that stage, and share they’re songs. Eddies Attic, Eddie, and all the musicians I’ve been blessed to hear at that venue, have impacted my life positively, in so many ways. That is why I wanted to say Thank You!!!!!!!!

……………………………………

Tired and alone this girl found her way
To this bar in Decatur where lots of folks play
All kinds of music she listened to in dismay
As her anxious heart calmed she heard what they’d say

It was a bitter cold night and the stars were shining bright
When she arrived at this sweet Georgia site
Passing Maria She walked up the stairs
Closed her eyes as she said a little prayer

Chorus

Sometimes you got to step out on your own
Take a leap of faith a deep breath as you go
To find your place in the world of the unknown
And you better say thank you
To the ones
That helped you find your way

She walked on stage went back several years in time
When she believed that her life was so sublime
When purpose was about the answers she could find
When Naivety was pleasure to the simple mind

Chorus

From across the room was this man with his pipe
Smoking away she glanced at his tender smile
You see
He’s seen it all before
About a million times again
And she just wants to thank him
She just wants to thank him
She just wants to thank him

Chorus
